NEW YORK - Sept. 8 2022, /PRNewswire/ Today the Israel Ministry of Tourism announced record-breaking numbers of visitors from the United States who visited Israel in July and August. 78,000 tourists from the United States visited Israel in July 2022. This is a 4% increase over 2019 and 71,000 visitors from the United States in august 2022. This is 13% more than 2019.
"It is thrilling to once again see an increase in tourist numbers to Israel from the United States, already reaching and exceeding our record-breaking numbers of 2019" stated Eyal Carlin, Tourism Commissioner for North America. "The United States is the most popular destination for Israel inbound tourism. Prior to the COVID-19 Pandemic, we had record-breaking numbers of tourism entry every month. It's a great positive trend that we're happy to see and we anticipate an increase in the months to follow."
Canada is in the process, like the United States, to surpass the number of tourists who visit Israel. In July 2022, Canada saw 7,200 tourists and August saw 6,600.

In the year 2019, Israel welcomed more than 4.6 million tourists from around the world, 969,600 of them coming from the United States, and since its official reopening for everyone regardless of their vaccination status in May this year The country has witnessed more than 600,400 US tourists.
