When the mobile-based Minecraft Earth was announced last year, it immediately drew comparisons to Pokemon Go because of its use of Augmented Reality and location-based games. It was quite different as senior editor Jess Conditt can attest, since you didn't need to go outside to participate in the mining or building activities. MINECRAFT SERVER LIST Mattel now provides Minecraft Earth a new play mode that Pokemon Go does not have NFC-enabled figurines.

The Boost Mini figurines will retail for $5 each. They will feature a variety of characters from the Minecraft franchise, including Steve, Alex, creepers ducks, cows, and creepers. Each figurine is very cute by itself, but when you place it in front of an NFC-enabled device can unlock specific abilities within Minecraft Earth for a certain amount of time, displayed by an indicator on the screen. You'll also earn XP for registering the mini with the game, as an additional incentive to collect all of them (or borrow from friends).
The first batch of Minecraft Earth to be released this spring includes 20 different minis, with 10 different abilities to choose from. Mattel also sells a clip-on pouch that could be clipped to your belt if you're looking to take your Minecraft Earth game with you on the go.
Mattel has announced new $3.50 blind-box minis that are themed to vanilla Minecraft. They also have larger figures of 3.5 inches that are compatible with the forthcoming Minecraft Dungeons. The Redstone Monstrosity is especially fun since it's scaled to match the size of the toys, standing over six inches tall. The 3.5-inch figurines will cost $10, with the monster going for $25 when it's released in the fall.
