נווה פריצקי In the 42-kilometer Jerusalem Ring Path cycling route, which surrounds the capital city, the Kerem Tunnel was inaugurated.

The tunnel runs through the Nahal-Refaim-Emek-Motza route. Its southern entrance is located beneath Ein Laban in Refaim Park. The northern entrance can be located in Nahal Ein Kerem.

נווה פריצקי On Thursday, Jerusalem and Heritage Minister Zeev Elkin, Mayor Michael, Avi Baleshnikov, Gihon chairman and hundreds of cyclists attended a ceremony to inaugurate the tunnel's 2.1-kilometer-long length.

Jerusalem was once a tourist attraction due to its rich past. Elkin stated that the current tourism industry is one of Jerusalem's historical treasures and also incorporates modern tourism. The Kerem Tunnel first was excavated in the 90s to move the main sewer line of the Gihon Corporation towards Sorek. It is currently utilized as an infrastructure tunnel that includes the fifth waterline to Jerusalem from the Mekorot water corporation.

The works currently underway include road construction, installation of blowers, as well as advanced security and electrical systems in order to ensure that the tunnel is secure for people to walk through at all times of the year.
