Lost Pages of Taborea: A Community Guide to Runes Of Magic

Welcome to the Runes of Magic column at Massively. The Varanas Council ordered that I bring you the latest news from Taborea every Monday. If I fail to do so, I will be ordered to participate in endless quests that can be repeated in the Ystra Highlands. This would be fine if it were not for me being a founding member of the Society for the Preservation of the Ystra Ferret. It's clear why I can't let that happen. You dear readers, will benefit from me being punctual and providing you with a wealth of useful and interesting information. I also save few fuzzy ferrets.



So, let's jump into our very first article with a list of websites and resources to get the would-be Taborean traveler started leveling and exploring.



Official Runes of Magic site - This is the official site. Having said that, it is a good idea to stay up-to-date with announcements of news technical issues, contests and other Item Mall specials they may have on the go.



Official Forums – This section covers most of the requirements for forums that are commonly used. CALISTOMEBEL Visit them for the great job they do with posting patches notes. You will find any changes to the game's operations in patch notes.



Facebook - RoM also has different Facebook accounts to serve different language servers, just like Twitter. I keep track of the accounts in the US and International. Both are both in English and allow you to interact with a wider player base, especially in the case of characters that are on US or International servers.



YouTube - Unlike Twitter and Facebook it only requires you to bookmark only one YouTube account. It's primarily a storage facility for all English and German videos in both languages that are available on the respective official sites. It can be a bit faster to find and view the videos.



Runes of Magic Wiki This is your ideal base of operations for everything you need to know about. This is a great place for those who are just beginning to learn about basic game mechanics and advanced charts that let players to theoretically design all rune combinations.



Getbuffed.com/runesdb.com - Some prefer one over the other, but they are both great resources for items, NPCs, weapons, armor, you get the picture. It's in the same vein as Wowhead. Both of them offer nice tools to scrape character information and share profiles offline.



Curse.com - RoM utilizes the Lua scripting language to allow further personalization of the user interface and game's functionality via add-ons. You can increase the damage meters and mailbox functions, among other things. There are currently over 300 add-ons that can enhance your gaming experience. If you're a coder, you can create your own addon that you can share with the community.



Twitter - The official US Twitter account for RoM. I also discovered GM Eres' account hidden in a box that was buried beneath snow. Be aware that each server has its own account. You can also find additional official game accounts by visiting the US one or by going to the main page to find your server's location.
