Bring along your tablet, laptop, or perhaps your smartphone loaded with videos when camping with your family.

It's something I've learned through trial and error. My mom is a constant cheerleader throughout the week and has encouraged me to plan and keep in mind this. I shared my excitement about taking my first camping trip of my life with my kids and her grandkids. Then she came in talking and puffing out tips and instructions for every scenario. My mom's voice is fine for me, but listening to her lectures makes me uncomfortable. I was trying to finish the work faster than I should. It was a mistake. I learned this that the hard way.

We set out in our car to drive it all the way to the camping site. In order to recreate the rural experience my father had back in the day I decided to go to an undiscovered spot that would turn out to be later, was not in service. Our phones were out of range, which meant that we were almost the only ones there, with no other campers. It's okay. I had hoped for to have a great time off from working.. 3 days in the wilderness, surrounded by nature.. After 24 hours of the camping adventure and we were back in the car.


What was the situation? We didn't have anything, none of the internet, there were no bars , and no money. I took a laptop along with some games online. The bag was not even able to come out of my hands. I had a great backdrop that I could show my children. They only wanted to look up their messages, check their emails and keep track of their school stuff, etc. I couldn't take the idea any longer, and we packed for the way back. My children made sounds that resembled to piglets eating delicious food as they emerged from the WiFi-free zone. Seriously... Don't think I'm being naive, I love my kids.. But, it was embarrassing. They moaned and squealed when their phones began beeping to announce incoming text messages.

Since then, I have developed a better understanding of how to be prepared and to not get stuck in an area that is internet-free with no roaming. When we took a journey by boat to the destination, we had to have our new best buddies. Two tablets and a laptop were packed with Hulu offline video downloads, Netflix movies and show on one and all my music videos on the second. I also was able to access the Windows app store that has both Hulu apps and Netflix apps. I've got about 600 hours of material to enjoy, which includes all of the South Park, Friends, and Will & Grace seasons.

There are a ton of YouTube videos that are funny for children. I downloaded a few Youtube music videos and converted some into mp3 format. Certain videos I downloaded the help of this web application, it allows me to get the video directly onto my laptop, and then I can stream it any time offline with no Internet I just need an electrical outlet, in case it is required to recharge. I DVR a variety of TV Shows, Movies, and Online Lectures. The videos I save as mp4 on my Laptop. After that, I play them using VLC, KMP, or virtually any video file that supports 4k.

Another aspect I insist on is 4k. Have you seen this? Video is clear, it's incredible. I would strongly recommend. Televisions that support 4K picture have great software inside it that process the picture and makes it better, and upscales it.
