Songs of Hope and Science by Koria Kitten Riot
On 27 January, Australian pop band Koria Kitten Riot released their debut album, Songs of Hope and Science. Their tie-dyed guitar pop sound has a 60s folk rock twist, and the band makes great use of harmony singing. The lyrics, which often travel between planets in the cosmos, intertwine themes of hope and science. The band also draws influences from psychedelic and Beatles music.

The new album from Finnish Indie-Pop act Koria Kitten Riot is a dazzling example of how an artist can create such a unified sound. Fronted by Antti Reikko, the band draws on influences including Elliott Smith, Wilco, and The Flaming Lips. The album was recorded in Berlin with the help of producer Simon Frontzek, and features a range of tempos from slow to fast.
