My first experience with this debut album was a pleasant surprise. It's a unique blend of pop and funk, with a surprising amount of angst. Songs of Hope and Science and 'Between A Pillow and a Soft Place' are highlights. I've also been drawn to Antti Reikko's influences, and I listened to both albums several times. This article will discuss those influences and more.
Songs of Hope and Science
New album Songs of Hope and Science by Koria kitten Riot features guitar pop sound with a 60s folk rock flair and a tie-dyed aesthetic. Lyrical themes delve between the worlds of science and hope. The psychedelic and Beatles influences are evident in the lyrics. Even though the album focuses on science, it still has a feel of hope.
The four-piece band of Finland combines psychedelic elements and a sense of harmony. The title track, "Hope and Science," is not exactly hoffnungsy, as the title suggests. However, the lyrics are melancholy, and they reflect the sentiments of hope. Consequently, the band is releasing new music to spread its message. Hopefully, this album will prove to be a hit.
Antti Reikko's influences
The music of Finnish band Koria Kitten Riot is a hybrid of folk and rock. Their debut album, titled "The Laughing Man," begins with ambient electronic noise and builds to a ten-second instrumental break. The band's lead singer, Antti Reikko, also fronts Johnny Superhero. Influences on the band's music range from Elliott Smith to Wilco. While the band's style is not exactly like other artists, the songs do have a strange and intriguing quality that is appealing. Their music is reminiscent of a Wes Anderson movie, with an overall sense of optimism.
Reikko's vocals are particularly melodic and ethereal. Her music is infused with synthesizers and subtle electronic noise. Its melodic sound is a great way to unwind and focus on the lyrics of a song. Her voice is resonant and soft, and you'll find yourself singing along with Reikko in no time. Although she's still in the process of writing her debut album, her influences on the project are diverse.
