If the Violent Night trailer is any indication, this is one Christmas film you'll need to check out in theaters. Written by Violent Night movie , the light-hearted action thriller follows Harbor's grumpy Santa Claus who's almost ready to give up on humanity after thousands of years of increasingly greedy Christmas wishes. However, when a girl known as Trudy Lightstone (Leah Brady) is able to ask the old Saint Nicholas for help when her family is attacked on Christmas Eve, she's capable of restoring that Christmas cheer back.
Violent Night was screened in NYC and both critics as well as fans alike were awed by the film early reactions describing it as a brand new Christmas classic. Some are exaggerating the film for the brutal action and Wirkola's masterfully choreographed fight scenes.
In addition to Harbor as well as Brady, Violent Night stars Christmas Vacation's Beverly D'Angelo, who plays Trudy's grandmother who she is presumably is named for, Gertrude Lightstone.
