The Thai government has made lottery reform a priority in recent years. The lottery has been around for almost a century. The government uses 28% of lottery profits to fund charitable organizations.
The Thai lottery has two draws per month. The first is usually on the first day of the month, and the second is on the 16th day. The smallest prize is a thousand baht, and the largest is a million baht. The official Thai lottery uses a special chemical paper for tickets. The ticket is printed in pairs. The first number on the pair is the one that will be drawn for the first prize. The second number is the one that will be drawn for the second prize. The last number on the pair is the one that will go into the draw for the third prize.
The Government Lottery Office (GLO) administers the national lottery. Tickets are sold by brokers and vendors, and are distributed to a network of over 14,700 authorized retail venues. The GLO prints 70 million tickets a year. The GLO also distributes them to a network of more than 3,000 disabled retailers.
The government's lottery has a number of other important functions. The first is to generate revenue for the government. The GLO uses 28% of lottery revenue to fund charities, disability organizations, and other social welfare programs.
