After a successful theatrical release, Warner Bros. and DC Entertainment's Black Adam has now hit the digital market via Video On Demand. To celebrate this digital launch of the epic comic book action-packed superhero, Vudu and Fandango have released the first scene from the film.

The film stars Dwayne "The rock" Johnson and directed by Jaume Collet-Serra The DC movie Black Adam marks the big-screen debut of the comic book superhero. About five thousand years after being gifted with the power that were possessed by the wizards of old, and then imprisoned, the mighty Teth-Adam, aka Black Adam (Johnson) is liberated from his grave. Now, it's an opportunity to allow Black Adam to fight against the forces of oppression that have been able to take over Kahndaq. But will Black Adam become the world's the savior or destroyer?

The film also stars Pierce Brosnan as Doctor Fate, Noah Centino as Atom Smasher, Aldis Hodge as Carter Hall aka Hawkman, and Quintessa Swindell as Cyclone.

The film is now available to purchase or rent the film digital VOD through the Vudu platform of Fandango. The film is available for purchase at $24.99 or $19.99 for a rental. The formats include Standard (SD), HDX, and UHD.

Black Adam hit the digital VOD format pretty quickly after its theatrical release on Oct. 21. The film did not do well among critics, scoring just 39% on the Rotten Tomatoes Tomatometer. The film is still playing in theaters, and has managed to attract an adequate audience. Thus far, it's grossed $160 million domestically and counting and about $370 million in the world.

It's extremely likely Black Adam will be able to earn more than $400 million at worldwide box office before it leaves theaters for good. However, whether that gross is enough to justify another sequel remains to be seen, especially during a time where there's plenty of change and upheaval going on at the two companies. Warner Bros. What is working against Black Adam for its sequel prospects is its costly budget. The film was a huge budget that was reported to be in the range between $200 and $300 million. This could make the film difficult to promote for future installments. But, 123 movies could be more straightforward to bring The Rock back as the character in other big-screen DC Universe features instead.

James Gunn and Peter Safran are now the new directors of the DC Films division. They obviously have strategies for how to develop this DC Universe of the big screen. Although Black Adam did not do a lot of business, it didn't bomb neither, and Dwayne Johnson is still one of the most popular stars on the planet with an enormous fan base.

If you prefer to wait for the 4K Blu-ray, 4K and DVD release, Black Adam will hit the formats on Jan. 3, 2023. At the very least, they still have the option to watch it in cinemas for a little longer, or stream it on VOD digital.
