Since the US government opened its troves of public data we've seen some pretty neat projects like climate-change prediction tools and deforestation-monitoring systems. Denmark however, on the other side, has chosen an entirely different approach: the Danish Geodata Agency used internally developed topographic maps and elevation models to create an exact representation of the happiest country within Minecraft's tiny confines. This pixelated Denmark unlike the virtual Great Britain that we've seen before is more than just natural features such as forests and hills. NAME MC Ars Technica discovered that it also contains exact copies of landmarks and highways. The project was intended to showcase the country's open-data initiative to teachers and students, but anyone can look around until the Danish government's game servers were shut down in the latter part of October. But, the rules of the server have been able to disable enemies and TNT -is not allowed to play. Creeps allowed Naturally.
