Minecraft maker Mojang plans to launch a spin-off game

Minecraft maker Mojang is planning a spin-off game that is based on its block-building game that is a hugely popular title.

It is named Minecraft: Story Mode and will be an episodic video game that takes place within the familiar Minecraft world but introduces new characters to the world.
The game is developed by Telltale Games which has produced many other episodic titles.
The first episode will be available on consoles, PCs and Macs in 2015, along with Android devices.
So far, no details about what it could look like have been released. Mojang has created a brief game for browsers called InfoQuest II to demonstrate what it could look like.
In a blogpost, Mojang said the game would be developed with the help of the Minecraft community.
It was designed to assure players that Story Mode is not violent and bloody as previous Telltale games. Telltale's most recent titles include Tales from the Borderlands, The Wolf Among Us and titles based upon Game of Thrones and the zombie thriller The Walking Dead.
"Telltale's game will be similar in tone to Minecraft itself," said Mojang, "though it's a totally original take inspired by our game."
The announcement about Story Mode comes soon after Mojang released a final version of its Scrolls card-based game of magic fighting.
