Gravity Of Motion

Are you familiar with Minecraft? It has quite a following... but I figure you may be familiar with the concept or haven't heard of it. Minecraft is a game that involves placing blocks to build whatever you want. It is a game that is built around creativity and building it allows players to construct constructions out of textured cubes in a 3D world. The game's commercial release features two principal modes: Survival, where players have to acquire resources and keep their health and nutrition; and Creative, which permits players to have unlimited resources and the ability to fly with no idea of hunger or health.



For birthdays, our kids wake up to a room packed with birthday decorations.



For the tablescape, I designed Minecraft plates and cups. I stuck a Minecraft face on the cups. I used a Minecraft face to glue the plates. Then I put (hot glue around the edges) an unglazed plate on top.



The table decorations included Minecraft blocks. I also hung some from the ceiling.



They were adored by the children.

I made my son's creeper shirts using freezer paper stencils.



I printed some Minecraft images to create a birthday sign. Then I used the Minecraft word generator (to add the words I wanted to add) to the Creeper signs. The generator is available here: Minecraft MemeGenerator



I ordered the Minecraft photo ax, and then used the packaging to make another decorative sign. I made the Minecraft Steve heads using paper, glue card board boxes and cardboard boxes.



The Steve heads were a huge hit for the children. Here's a photo of my boys with them in the morning before school.



Although you can order Steve heads online, it is much cheaper to make them yourself, especially because I made four.

I made an Creeper Birthday Cake with green frosting, chocolate bars and chocolate chips.



It was a fun-filled Minecraft birthday celebration.
