Similar to Minecraft Dungeons, Legends is creating new mobs for Minecraft.

Minecraft Legends creative director Magnus Nedfors and executive producer Dennis Ries sat down during the Xbox booth livestream at Gamescom this week to provide a couple new details about Legends, including info on new mobs-both friends and foe. As with its past genre experimentations, Mojang and Blackbird Interactive's upcoming RTS spinoff is set to create its own unique mark on the Minecraft world. Dungeons broke the bounds of existing Minecraft lore to create mobs that fit its action RPG world and Legends is following suit.
As we saw in its initial reveal trailer The main villains of Minecraft Legends are the familiar Nether inhabitants, the Piglins. While we're all familiar with Piglins and Hoglins in Vanilla Minecraft, Legends is including a "Pigmadillo," which crouches down into a cube and contrary to what you'd expect from the physical properties of a cube it rolls in a way that is offensive to the thing it's aiming at. Ries also points out that there are "Bruisers" that have two razor blades. Bit horror-esque, innit? Both new mobs are featured in the brand new trailer that Mojang presented.
On the other side you'll find two kinds of golems joining your ranks: the Cobblestone Golem who is great at destroying enemies' structures and the Plank Golem which Ries calls a ranged unit. They also mention speed wheat, which is an specialized type of mushroom designed to jump high, which you can use to travel around the world and unlock new areas in Legends.
Minecraft Dungeons also introduced new mobs such as the Iceologers or Mountaineers. The Minecraft Live 2020 fan vote to decide which mob should add to Vanilla Minecraft to Vanilla Minecraft included the Iceologers. They lost to Glow Squid, however I wouldn't be too surprised to see one of these new Legends baddies getting the same chance at Vanilla Minecraft fame.
And in case you missed it, there's a badger at the beginning of the trailer too. Project Badger was the codename of Minecraft Legends before it was revealed. This may just be a nod to. It may even be granted status as a mob official.
