After years of being limited to computers, Old School Runescape has finally arrived on mobile. The throwback version, an extremely popular MMORPG is now playable on iOS and Android devices. This update is more than a year after Jagex promised it was possible.

The mobile version of Old School Runescape allows gamers who have devoted an astronomical amount of time in the title to continue their quests while traveling. It supports cross-platform play so you can log into your existing account and pick up the same place you left off from desktop.
If you've not played Runescape before the mobile version may also serve as a useful starting point. You normally navigate through the game mostly by clicking and pointing, and so the interface transfers well to the gesture-based controls of a smartphone. Jagex announced an increase in new players who have signed up for the mobile version of Old School Runescape, so now is a good time to get your toes into.
Old School Runescape is not to be confused with Classic Runescape, which is officially dead. Classic Runescape was the original iteration of the game and was in limbo for a while before Jagex finally shut it down earlier in the year. Old School Runescape is an adaptation of a 2007 backup of the RuneScape source code and was first released in 2013. The game now called Runescape is much more graphically intensive than its predecessor in Java. This version of Runescape doesn't yet have an app for mobile devices.
