How difficult would it be to create a small campain of roleplaying style?

Ok so, some context. Me and a friend have a yearly thing every summer where we prepare a server and host an event for our friends on it. Every year it gets more complex and advanced, and we have tons of fun making it, and seeing people's reaction to it. The last two years have been focused on PVP but we want to change the formula. This year we want to go all out, we were thinking about a more streamlined approach, instead of having a PVP event, we would love to host the server has some kind of roleplaying event, with areas, trials, all the good stuff. We really don't want any mods, just plugins, my main concerns were things like : Syncing music to a discord bot, having plugins to setup trials and success conditions, having potential bosses or custom enemies. How doable is all of this in 8-10 months? Are there any plugins that could help setting up stuff like this? Thanks! I want to improve my skills in coding and server management. What are your suggestions to build a great server or running it efficiently? (And programming if you're a programmer, what are your reasons for not?

Ive been running a server now for about a month, and while i've had some run ins with stuff like this never have i gotten into it and desired it as much as i do now. i want to run this stuff well but i often run into so many blocks which i know i could fix easily if i knew the tool. (same goes for coding, sentence could be changed to coding , add a month, and call it a day)



So, what are your best practices, tricks, Simple things that can be easily looked, and things that MASSIVELY improved your life, Saved you time, or created an awesome environment? ofc these are all general guidelines, so if you think something doesn't quite fit but still is helpful, do not hesitate to give it a shot!

(i run a modified server on my own mod pack, for context)



More advanced things i'm trying to get the hang of are things like mods for reducing the amount of lag and how to effectively deal with the high server stress environment that massive mods can create. Looking through logs to find errors and fix them efficiently (again this isn't the right place, but still may as well ask). How do I determine which mods conflict or interact in strange ways?



It's a mix of random questions from the internet and what you answer or do not answer is okay, i'm just trying to take the time to get the best education I can! Thanks guys!





















Plugin to help with the problem of chainkills

Hi all admins of all other servers, im launching another edition of my small server for friends (or rather friends + who my friends invite +who the friends of my friends invite+⅓will be random people that noone knows who found our discord on disboard ) and so as of this time i plan or expanding the server by promoting it so that more strangers join



Problems arise. I would like to keep the smp server-style however, I can find it getting harder and more difficult as more people join. Or, if a player gets too many kills within a short time frame and they are subject to a 15 minute tempban/freeze. Worst Lies Is there a plugin or a way to add these functions? If there are none is there a way i could make a commandblock that performs that? (Will this work? Scoreboard that counts kills that is reset every 7 minutes and an attack block that debuffs a person everytime they get more than 3 kills. between 3 kills and 5 you get weakeness and slowness and from 6 to 7 you get weakness 2 and slowness 2, and if you get 8 kills, you will get a teleport to a cage at spawn with a timer which opens 5 minutes after someone is in there, the last portion is accomplished using command blocks)

My friends are having problems with performance on my home server. Their clients are way behind my server and their interactions with the rest of the world take a lot longer (tens to seconds), as if they were slow. They can see me moving smoothly however, only after I've moved.



The server's TPS is in good shape and I'm not having issues playing with my network IP. Their connection to my IP is fine. Their low connection bar ingame is the only indicator that something is not right. Sometimes there isn't a problem.



If it's relevant it's not an issue on a lightly modified Fabric server. Evidently, something was wrong, and it was occurring.



I would appreciate any assistance to solve this issue, and I am able to provide more details if needed.
