The Professional Gambler
I want to start out by telling you who this article is about, or rather, who it's not about. The Professional Gambler isn't the flashy player that you see making lots of noise and calling attention to his. He, or she, will not be the player making the extravagant high-roller bets. The real pro is one who is a serious, reserved, silent player. The professional gambler knows that to keep ahead of the game the competition, it is essential to make gambling a business; a profitable business.

Professional gamblers never "go out for a day (or night) of gambling." The pro wouldn't assume that they'd be playing all night. A professional usually makes a decision within 30 minutes whether to continue playing or to stop. If a professional gambler decides to play, it's with the specific intent to succeed, not to amuse him or others. It's work. It's a job. You see, there is no way to know how long it takes to either achieve success (or lose enough), but the pro will know when one of these limits is reached and will have the determination to know when it is and act accordingly.

You might have, at times, play ed next to the professional. Most likely, you will not be able to recall the experience. The only thing that could really draw attention to professional players is when he wins and then stops. The player doesn't just keep playing because he/she believes that she is "out to enjoy a night of betting." Professional gamblers prefer to see the latest movie or show if they want to be entertained. Gambling is not an "activity" like the majority of people think of it. You visit Vegas or Atlantic City and you gamble all through the night. This is how recreational gamblers make money. They find it very easy to rationalize...something like this; "Well I played all night and it only cost me $200. That's a reasonable amount for entertainment as well as free drinks. visit this page is the attitude of tourists. You might hear of people who won thousands in Vegas. It happens. It is more likely that you hear the all too common tale that goes like this:
"I was up to three or four hundred dollars, however, I lost everything back." It is rare to have a professional make an assertion like that. If one's intention is to earn a profit, then they will recognize that 3 to 4 hundred is an extremely healthy profit that is likely to be gone.

Professional gamblers are known as guerrilla fighters. They're not here to race. Again, the professional is there to make a profit. It's not long before they win or lose, and certainly not everyday. There is a chance that they will get an winning streak, and believe me when I say that the professional will recognize it and ride it to the end. However, more often than not, the play of a professional will last only long enough to make profits or lose the maximum amount for the day. If a professional makes a huge profit it is unlikely that the casino would see that money ever again. The professional is way more intelligent than the casino that chance.

When it comes to systems, the professional is also more knowledgeable than to believe that there is really a system that can consistently beat the casinos regardless of the game you play. Instead, the professional gambler will employ established strategies and betting techniques to enhance his or her odds of winning. There are a few decisions to be made in the course of play. The majority of professional's decisions are taken before they even begin to play. Professionals stick to their current strategies and betting patterns. There is no way to witness the pros "chase his money." A professional is able to, and will take a loss. It happens. It happens. There will be times when you make very little or no money, and even make losses if travel costs are included. The professional gambler is able to see the entire scope of his bet. It's not "how much did I win or lose today?" It's more of "How far am I ahead for this month or next year?"

I'd like to include a note on professional poker players. They're a class by themselves! In fact, some poker players don't consider themselves to be gamblers. They argue that poker is a game of expertise and have a great deal of skill. The professional poker player is not like the one I wrote in the previous paragraph. In games to play , I'll probably write an article about the subject. They're certainly an interesting breed!
