Understanding the Four Mind Axes

These four mind axes pertain to how we process information. These are Associativity (Directivity) as well as Convergence (Convergence) and Lexicality. Each category is fundamental to the mind, and understanding how they work is crucial for understanding human cognition. However, temperament is not the same for everyone.


Associativity

Associativity of mind is a measure of the ways people think. People with high Associativity tend to be able to focus on one topic or idea for prolonged periods of time instead, they tend to think in multiple streams of consciousness. They are also prone to shifting topics, resulting in numerous connections. Contrary to other kinds of thinking, however, associativity does not necessarily mean inattention and disorganization. The most important characteristic is the variety of thoughts. People with high Associativity are more capable of brainstorming naturally, which is a common characteristic.

While the method is based on compass but it also focuses on the internal cognitive functions of the two axes. Its aim is to teach people about the processes of cognition and their role in the formation of patterns of communication. It is similar to Trixie's Neurotypology but is different in that it focuses on the internal processes of the mind, instead of the external features of the mind.

Directivity

Mind Axes are a way to evaluate various aspects of the human mind. It is possible to measure directivity and divergence in various aspects of our thinking. Divergent thinking is the development of multiple ideas from one input and the formation of free associations from it. This is different from Directivity and Convergence where we are seeking the most effective solution from a huge amount of data.

Convergence

Convergence between mind axes is a reference to a process of thinking in which we make use of our primary thinking axes. This axis is strongly connected to the Analytical Axis and is wired for Global Thinking. It is also closely connected to System 2, which is the process of analysing and evaluating information in a structured way.

Lexicality

Lexicality is an important aspect of a system focusing on cognition. Mind Axes' systems make clear distinctions between kinds that are based on cognitive content. They don't rely on static typologies or traits. They are more of a compass that defines how people view the world and everything around them.

Two kinds of words were used to test the lexicality contrast. One was a high frequency word and the other was an lower frequency word. The high-frequency words were contrasted with the low-frequency words , and the two types were compared using lexicality contrast. Then, we tested for interactions between lexicality contrast and word frequency contrast. We also compared lexicality contrast to a fixation baseline.

The results show that lexicality influences the level of imageability. The activation of high-frequency words is more than that of words with low frequency and they are more active than nonwords. This is in line with previous research. The lexicality effects were also observed in the left superior frontal gyrus, right cerebellar area and left fusiform regions.

Lexicality can affect representations specific to words like orthography, semantics, and phonology. These effects are also crucial in processes that do not depend on preexisting representations of lexical terms.

Impressionism

Impressionism was a late 19th-century art movement that attempted to capture the fleeting qualities light and color, and explore new psychological concepts about consciousness. The movement is most associated with the work of Monet, Manet, Renoir, and Cezanne. It offers a visual representation of the Modernist break from Locke's empirical theory of knowledge.

Seurat's paintings are considered as the most admired works of this style, Neo-Impressionism went beyond this and into pointillism. Paul Signac, Henri Edmond Cross, and others are among the most notable examples of this period. Both of these artists studied at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts, where George Seuret studied.

Laterality

Laterality of the mind is the ability to discern the indirect effects of phenomena. It is a crucial component of motor dexterity and action. What makes a person think laterally? This ability is influenced by several factors. One of them is the thumb-palm complex.

The laterality of mind can be a reflection of differences in the way that each the brain of one hemisphere processes information. These differences are more evident in left-handed people than in right-handed people. Left-handed people tend to use their left side for language, whereas those who are right-handed utilize their right side for visual and spatial processing. However, lateralization also is affected by universal principles that govern behaviours.

Cortical activity across both the right and left hemispheres is dominant when the laterality of the mind axis has been observed. Even when visual and auditory signals were combined the lateralization effect was evident. It was evident regardless of the response to a stimulus.
