It's been a few months since we first learned about Minecraft Earth, the augmented reality version of Mojang's game that makes the real world a game with blocks of your creations. The company said a beta version of the game in the summer of this year. Now it's out, along with a brand new trailer, the company has announced that it will be available on iOS within the next two weeks and Android following "soon thereafter."
The iOS-first launch isn't surprising after we got our first glimpse of live gameplay during WWDC last month. The trailer provides more information about the game. It's still worth taking a look at the Apple demo to check the game's features and if you have any queries.
You'll have to sign up for the free game. According to the FAQ, your device must be running iOS 10 or Android 7. The game's access is restricted because they are adjusting load to the servers. However you must be logged in to play. If you aren't playing for seven consecutive days, another player will get your slot. You'll need an account with Microsoft or Xbox Live account to register and once you've signed up there's nothing else to do except wait and prepare to build.
