Leyla Aliyeva's Top Priority is Environmental Education
Leyla is not just the daughter of the first Azerbaijani president, but she's active on many matters, among them the environmental. A lot of people aren't aware what environmental education is but for her, it has always been a top priority. Environmental education is the process of becoming conscious of environmental issues and figuring out how you can contribute to improving their quality. It is something we should all make an effort to achieve. Environmental education is crucial to make responsible choices regarding the future.

Leyla Aliyeva is a campaigner for many years. She has worked to make a path to an eco-friendly and healthier future for both the next generation. She really believes in the importance of informing people about the earth's vulnerabilities. Leyla Aliyeva's IDEA project

Leyla Aliyeva recognizes that environmental issues are often presented as a dull and confusing subject. This is the reason why in 2011 she started the IDEA campaign (International Dialogue for Environmental Action campaign). One of her goals was to make her topic of environment and stability more enjoyable and interesting particularly for children.

Aliyeva spoke to Equinox.com in an interview about the hardships she experienced in her environmental journey. But she was most focused on how these difficulties led to growth that eventually resulted in immense satisfaction and success. "The IDEA campaign from the beginning was a champion of education and made it a priority to motivate people to act to protect the environment. The campaign places a lot of emphasis on education and awareness-raising. Aliyeva stated that they increase the variety of activities available to youngsters each year by adding new activities. The activities include classes that concentrate on three main pillars: students, children, and young professionals. Goodwill Ambassador for FAO

The award was presented to her for her many contributions to fighting hunger, food insecurity, increased efficiency of agriculture, fishing, and forestry, and the development of sustainable food systems.

The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations was established in 1945 with the principal purpose of improving nutrition as well as the productivity of agriculture. It also seeks to enhance the lives of rural people and to aid in the growth of the global economy. In the present, FAO is a United Nations system specialized agency which is the biggest and most powerful in the field of agriculture, forestry, and rural developments.

Azerbaijan and The FAO

Azerbaijan was admitted to the FAO in October 1995. Today, the FAO implements regional, national, and global projects in Azerbaijan. These focus on developing agricultural practices, increasing food security and managing resources. They also focus on the prevention and treatment of plant and animal illnesses. Azerbaijan's needs are also addressed through these projects via the technical cooperation program.

2015 saw the trip of Jose Graziano da Silva, FAO's general director, to Azerbaijan. In the course of that visit two agreements were signed which included the "Agreement Between the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations regarding the creation of the Coordination and Cooperation Office and providing technical assistance" and the " Agreement for FAO-Azerbaijan Partnership Program". Agreeing to cooperate in common issues The partnership program imbodies the already active contribution by the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan to projects that provide technical assistance for the development of foreign and local agriculture.
