Great effort by Birdlife SA giving South Africans and International visitors an opportunity in a lifetime to witness the pelagic birding and wildlife around Marion Island. Well organized and the audio system were glorious. Birdlife SA is unreservedly dedicated to preserve and improve the conditions for birdlife on this nation. By doing this, they're bringing visitors from all over the world, and boosting tourism.
The Kingswood College 1st XV had the thrilling prospect of playing Selborne College from East London of their first fixture of the season on the Graeme College Rugby Day on Saturday. There was a gaggle of musicians and poets called the “Bothie Blue” of which Peter Dobeyn, Robin Wrede, Vic Alberts and Daniel Le Roux amongst others have been members. Leonard Ernest Weston, born third November 1949, in Chingola Zambia, was the youngest of four children. Len attended boarding school in Lusaka, Zambia & then accomplished schooling at Gifford Tech, Bulawayo, Zimbabwe. During his high school years, while on a family trip in Cape Town, he met Dagmar- which resulted in him shifting to Cape Town & spending a 12 months at General Botha Naval Academy in 1968. Len was quite the wild youngster, by the age of 21, he had been in 21 automobile accidents , the final accident being when he put his MGBGT sports car under a train, while dicing a pal, in the Cape Town harbor. After the Academy, Len labored his method up the ranks in enterprise until he was factory manager for a leather-based baggage company.
I just want to let you realize that I am very glad and happy. I will likely order another cane as well. That is how impressed I am with the craftmanship of his products. My only remorse was not getting the second optional handle which I will order shortly so that I can journey with it.
My dad having been a Battle of Britain fighter pilot, I decided to join the RAF. Unfortunately, because of only acquiring Senior Certificate from Bothie, I didn't qualify for a Commission within the RAF. So I joined in the Ranks as an ‘Erk’. However, having some aptitude I got a full choice of trades so went for the highest trades of Airborne Radar and Radio.
Later joined Comair as First Officer flying DC3 and friendships. 1992 promtoed to Captain and in 1996 flying Boeing 737’s on the Cape Town, Durban, Windhoek, Harare routes. FORSTERARTHUR DENNIS1353Nickname on the Bothie “Goofy”. Joined Blue Funnel in 1946 as Cadet. Subsequently served with Strick Line of London and with Safmarine. Obtained Masters Certificate in 1955 and joined the South African Harbour Service in Durban as Chief Officer on a tug.
