Eleven months after it left Xbox Game Pass, one of the biggest games ever released is now returning to the library. On April 8, Grand Theft Auto V will be available through the service for Xbox console players. You'll be able cause havoc in San Andreas with your tablet or phone through Xbox Cloud Gaming (or xCloud). It's the Xbox One version, while the Series X/S or PlayStation 5 ports won’t arrive until later in the year.
One of the other titles that will be added to Game Pass this month is NHL 21 through EA's partnership with Microsoft. EA Play is included with Game Pass Ultimate, and subscribers will be able to access the most recent edition of the hockey series on Xbox consoles starting on April 12th. Microsoft has previously announced that MLB The Show 21, the game, developed by Sony will be available on consoles as well as the cloud through Game Pass starting April 20th.
Also coming to Game Pass on April 8th will be Zombie Army 4: Dead War (on cloud, console and PC), Disneyland Adventures and Rush: A Disney/Pixar Adventure (both on Cloud Gaming). The game will come with ID@Xbox games Rain on Your Parade (cloud), console and PC, and Pathway (PC).
Certain games are coming out of Game Pass and/or EA Play this month. Wargroove, some older Madden and NHL games are among them.
Meanwhile, Microsoft noted there are more than 50 games optimized for touch controls on Xbox Cloud Gaming, including Minecraft Dungeons, Sea of Thieves, Gears 5, Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age and Slay the Spire. A new feature is available for Game Pass subscribers on console. The Play with Friends section will show when your friends are playing an Game Pass game. You'll be able to hop into a multiplayer session with them or download that game too.
