Avanos Medical and the FDA have issued a Class 1 recall of 629 units of CORTRAK*2 Entral Access System, a feeding tube device that has been responsible for dozens of injuries and deaths.
The devices were affected between April 1st 2016, 2016 until January 1, 2022. Avanos Medical feeding tube They are used to help healthcare professionals to insert feeding tubes into the stomach or the intestines of patients.
Cortrak 2 eternal access system Nasogastric tubes, also known as Nasoenteric tubes, that were placed incorrectly have resulted in 20 deaths and 60 injury reports since 2015.

According to FDA, adverse events included respiratory failure or pneumothorax (collapsed lung) and perforation, a hole in the bowel or wall of the lung], pneumonia (a lung infection) and Pleural effusion (excess fluid in the lung space and your chest cavity).
