You might have noticed that Minecraft has very little RAM. However, if you install mods to improve the game's properties or enhance the gameplay, such as the addition of new objects, mobs or world generators to the game, it might end up closing automatically. This is because it will require more RAM than you have.



Minecraft is written in Java. You'll need to have both the 32-bit and 64 bit versions installed in Java in order to increase the RAM.



Increasing the RAM available for Minecraft is very simple however, you must consider the memory of your device, as you should not give up more than half the memory on your device. If you own a PC with 4 GB of RAM you should not use more than 2GB.

This guide will walk you through step-by-step how you can increase the RAM of Minecraft using the current Minecraft launcher version.



If you have some old Minecraft launcher version or use another launcher besides the official one, you can follow the same steps however you'll have to find the arguments options yourself.



Without further delay, let's start with the process.

Step 1: Verify Available Memory

This should be the first step however, if you already know how much memory have on your computer, then you can move on to the next step.



Open the File Explorer, right-click on This Computer, then in the menu, click Properties






A new window will open and you will have to go to the section System. In the line Installed Memory (RAM) You can see how much memory is available on your computer.



You should also remember to not use too much memory in Minecraft.






A good option is to use the half of your memory. Therefore, in this case, I will use 2GB of my 4GB Ram.





Step 2: Allocate More Memory

On these steps, I will show you how to increase the amount of RAM on Minecraft using the official launcher.



1. Open the Minecraft Launcher, and log in to your account


2. Now you need to navigate to the

tab


3. Click on the link to see the latest release schedule

8. Once in the game, you must to confirm that you have allocated memory by pressing the key F3
