Today we're bringing you another real-life piece of art with a bit of animation. GoodSirCompany on Reddit posted a cute video of their very first Lego Minecraft stop motion animation. It features a player dressed in black armour, moving towards an unsuspecting skeleton and smiting them. It's a great little work and, while it does have some rough edges, it also has a nice smoothness in the battle.
It's also brimming with amazing little details. The fire is one of the most striking aspects. It flashes continuously to give the mini diorama the feeling of being in motion. If you're observant you'll also see an appearance from something that's suspicious in the background. Who doesn't love a good cameo?
The very first attempt by GoodSirCompany to do this, there are some useful comments as well. It's easy to see that the shadows in background are moving. However, a great lighting source can be helpful. There's also some camera shake which is most likely to happen when GoodSirCompany hits the camera button. Slasken06 suggested that the shake could be fixed by using wireless headphones to take the pictures. You could also use remotes. If you weren't expecting some stop motion tips from us, then think about this as a bonus.
