How to ride a horse in Minecraft



Follow these steps to control and ride horses in Minecraft:



Find a saddle or horse Armor. These items are available in chests in dungeons and nether fortresses. They can also be found in fishing.



Find horses. Horses are usually seen grazing on plains or in savannas.



To tame the horse, feed it with food. Continue feeding it until its hearts rise above its head.



The ability to mount a horse that isn't trained is possible however it can be difficult. You may eventually be able ride it if you put in enough practice.



Choose the horse using an empty hand. You will mount the horse but can't control its movements.

Place a Saddle (or Horse Armor) on the horse. Open your inventory and then drag the Saddle into the appropriate box beside your horse.



Ride your horse. To dismount you must press the Sneak button. This button is different based on your platform:



PC: Press the Shift key on the left


Xbox: Press the right joystick


PlayStation Playstation joystick


Nintendo: Press the right joystick


Mobile: Tap the center button twice



Holding down the jump button causes the blue/green bar under your health to fill up. To jump, release the button before the bar starts to run out.



What do horses eat in Minecraft?



To train the horse in Minecraft you can feed them one of the following items:



- Apples


- Bread


Hay


- Golden Apples


- Golden Carrots


- Sugar


- Wheat



Horse Breeding in Minecraft



After you have tamed your horses, put a fence around them. Give each horse the gift of a Golden Apple and Golden Carrot. If you're lucky enough, hearts will appear above their heads and you'll soon have a little colt. Feed the newborn horse to make it grow into an adult. Give it at least five minutes before you attempt to breed your horses again.
