Minecraft: Java Edition's latest update introduced a new player reporting tool, which allows players to report "inappropriate chat messages or dangerous behaviour" for moderators to examine. Although it may seem to be a good idea from afar however, a lot of Minecraft players aren’t happy that it now extends to private servers.
Naturally, because this is Minecraft, players have changed their opinions about what they like and dislike. Mods are available to remove messages from your profile.
It's possible to do this with a few mods. No Chat Reports from Aizistral appears to "strip cryptographic signatures" that link messages that you send with your Minecraft Account. It also allows the Forge, Fabric and Modding APIs. NoEnryption by Doclic does the same thing for Minecraft Spigot server software, and No Chat Reports by TechnicallyCoded, also for Spigot claims to be "currently the only plugin which is able to fully replicate the vanilla behaviour" and can be used with multiple languages.
Discord
The mods are used at your own risk. They can be used on both the server and client sides. However, if you install them on the client side, other servers might stop you from joining if they decide to apply secure profiles. This is a good thing, and means you shouldn't be able to make use of these mods for in a smear campaign against people who need the protections moderation can provide.
While it seems reasonable that Mojang regulate their community for their games however, it's natural for players to be anxious about private spaces being subjected to moderating. Moderation teams don't always succeed and players are worried about being banned from their servers for comments that aren't appropriately contextualized. Even if moderation was infallible, I also don't think it's unreasonable for some players to want to opt-out of moderation with an understanding of exactly what that entails.
Mojang received feedback from players after the update was made available for testing. They stated that Mojang Studios recognizes that private servers can operate independently and that many use that independence to create amazing Minecraft innovations that enhance their community. "But it has always been the case that Minecraft servers of any scale must follow the rules described in the EULA as well as the Commercial Usage Guidelines, and our Community Standards. Everyone should have the safety of their Minecraft experience no matter where they decide to play."
Mojang also released this humorous video about Minecraft being updated in a hilarious manner by a boss.
Mojang might claim that players must abide by "Community Standards" however it's important to note that 2b2t is a lawless server that's been infamous for trolling, obscenity and other inappropriate behavior. It's a terrible place. I wouldn't wish to play there, and I imagine Mojang would prefer that not have it, but it's also significant in terms of culture and was included in the Victoria and Albert Museum's Design/Play/Disrupt exhibition in London.
