To help bring attention to the plight of mangroves as well as the important benefits they provide, Minecraft created Rooted Together Interactive Map where players can explore a mangrove-based ecosystem in-game.
The game lets players plant mangroves, track CO2 levels and see new wildlife. It's an interactive demonstration of how trends in climate as well as biodiversity and changes in climate are impacted by the mangrove habitat's health. The more mangroves people plant, the less dangerous climate change becomes, and the more animals will be able to return to their home.
Supporting Conservation at TNC
Mojang Studios will contribute $200,000 to TNC to help us achieve our goals in addition to the mangrove interaction in game ecosystems. In July, Minecraft creators hosted their own charity streams, which reached more than 350,000 live viewers and 33,500 viewers on video-on-demand. These creators played Minecraft live and also educated viewers on the importance mangroves worldwide.
