There's an astonishing number of mobs that can be found in Minecraft as of 1.18 It's best to learn as much about them as you can to make sure you can handle each one with care.
Below is the full list of Minecraft mobs and animals, from the simple Chicken to legendary monsters such as the Ender Dragon and mobs that are coming up like Frogs, Allays, and the Warden, all of which are due in Minecraft 1.19.
List of Minecraft mobs
Since its beginning in the early 2010s Minecraft has come a far. Now there's a grand total of 73 mobs available in Minecraft (with more to come in Minecraft 1.19! Every mob behaves and appears quite different from the other. Below I've listed every mob in the game, categorised based on whether they are passive, neutral, or hostile towards the player.
Passive mobs are those that will never attack the player even if the player attacks them first. Minecraft They are generally harmless and won't attack players unless they are attacked. Below is an overview of all Passive mobs, followed by lists of all breedable, tameable and riding passive mobs.
Axolotl - Bat – Cat – Chicken – Cod Fox — Glow Squid Horse The HorseMooshroom & Mule? Ocelot? Parrot ParrotPig lin (baby), Polar Bear (baby), Pufferfish lin (baby), Pufferfish lin (baby), Pufferfish lin (baby), Pufferfish li - Pufferfish Lin (baby Squid a - Strider –Tur – Turtle – Villager – Turtle – Villager Trader Frog Wandering Trader Frog (upcoming, arriving with Minecraft 1.19)
Breedable mobs
- Axolotl - Cat - Chicken - Cow – Donkey - Fox Horse - Mooshroom - Ocelot - Pig - Rabbit - Sheep - Skeleton Horse - Strider - Turtle - Villager - Mule - can be bred from horses and donkey, but cannot itself breed
Tameable mobs
- Cat - Donkey - Horse - Mule — Parrot - Skeleton Horse Fox - Fox - not really tame but will "trust” the player - Ocelot Ocelot - not really tame but will "trust” the player
Rideable mobs
- Donkey - Horse - Pig - Mule - Skeleton Horse - Strider
In the event of a crisis depending on the situation, neutral mobs could be passive or hostile towards players. Below, I have listed each mob's behavior when threatened to change their behavior to become hostile.
Bee - provoked if attacked or beehive broken it only attacks once Cave Spider - hostile if in low light levels Dolphin - provoked when attacked Enderman - provoked if attacked or was viewed by Goat randomly charges nearby players Iron Golem provoked by a villager who is nearby Llama and provoked if attacked, only attacks once Piglin (adult) - provoked by any player not wearing 1+ Gold Armor pieces Panda is provoked when attacked, attacks only once Polar Bear (adult) - provoked if attacked or near an infant Spider - hostile if in low light level Wolf - provoked by being attacked Zombified Piglin - provoked if attacked
Hostile mobs will always attack nearby players whenever they can. There's just no reasoning with these kinds of mobs.
Blaze - Chicken Jockey, Creeper Drowned – Elder Guardian Endermite–Evoker Ghast — Guardian Guardian Guardian _ Hoglin–HunkPhantom Hoglin-HunkPhantomPiglin Brute Pillager– Ravager Jockey, Horseman Skeleton, Silverfish Slime – Spider Jockey – Stray? Vex? Vindicator– Witch zglin e Villager Warden a Zombie Villager Warden–Zombie Villager Warden
Minecraft boss mobs
There are currently two "boss mobs" in Minecraft. These are powerful mobs that have their own health bars, and they are currently the most dangerous enemies in Minecraft apart from obviously the players you'll encounter on PvP Minecraft servers.
Ender Dragon Wither
