Warcraft Novels Reading Order

Warcraft Novels Reading Order

If you're a fan of World of Warcraft, whether you're a reader or not, chances are that you've heard that there are a slew of novels set in the Warcraft universe that expand on the lore of Azeroth greatly. Many of these novels feature some of our favorite prominent characters from World of Warcraft, like Thrall, and Jaina Proudmore and expand on their stories as well.

One issue one could run into with the extended universe novels in any fictional universe is both where to start and in which order one should read the stories in. It is easy to become lost in the vast library of stories, especially if you are excited to read them. Fortunately, with the Warcraft novels at a minimum there's an entry point and a read-order to ensure that your reading experience is fulfilling.

To get the best results, start with number 1 and keep going until you're finished. Have fun!

Just a quick aside here It's important to note that the War of the Ancients trilogy takes place LONG before the Rise of the Horde. To better understand the arc of the story, it's an excellent idea to read them in conjunction with the previous stories and begin them right after Day of the Dragon.

There's a bit of an overlap with The Last Guardian being part of two collections However, you can buy all of them for $15 to $20 on Amazon. This means you can buy more than half of the series for under $60 if you bargain hunted.

The Warcraft Chronicles Volumes are an excellent way to increase your Warcraft knowledge, but not necessarily in the form of a compelling narrative. These books are filled with rich knowledge and lore of the Warcraft universe, laid out (as one would imagine) in chronological order. The art of kerembeyit Beginning with the formation of the universe and the Warcraft Mythos, and ending with the Cataclysm the books are just bursting with interesting tales of lore.

These volumes are highly recommended. I received the first as a gift, and then purchased the second. The first volume, which details Warcraft's cosmology, I found very interesting. It also explains some aspects of the development and history of Pandaria.

Well, hopefully you found this useful. Now you can read the tales of Warcraft to the fullest and never worry if you've missed something, or are reading some distance ahead. Have fun and have a great day!

These guides were a huge help to me during the lockdown.

There appears to be an inconsistency in the books prior to Durotans death and I believe the theory is that this gap is addressed in WC1.

Great article! As a suggestion, you could include the short stories (most of them are here: https://www.icy-veins.com/forums/topic/20998-reading-order-of-warcraft-books-and-novels/), and also the comic books, including the Legion ones ( https://play.google.com/store/search?c=books&q=world+of+warcraft+legion)

Are these just the WoW books or do they include the Warcraft and WoW books?

Does anyone know of a "best bookto start with? Or is there a favorite author? There are a lot of authors, so I was curious if any books are worth skipping and which ones everyone liked the most.
