Avanos Medical, FDA and Avanos Medical, FDA and the FDA have issued an Class 1 Recall for 629 units of CORTRAK*2's Ental Access System. Cortrak 2 eternal access system This feeding tube-placement device has been implicated in numerous deaths and injuries.
Cortrak 2 eternal access system Avanos Medical The recall devices were released on April 1st in 2016 until January 1, 2022. These devices are utilized by health professionals to insert feeding tubes into stomachs or in the intestines.
Nasogastric or Nasoenteric tubes which were incorrectly placed have caused 23 deaths and 60 injury reports since 2015.
The recall helps amend the label of the device so that it can make it clear to users that the tube has been properly placed prior to delivering food.
