Ewpratten - Overview

Since the fifth grade, I have been writing software since fifth grade. I started my journey with Python and JavaScript. Many years later, I am now writing software professionally as well as for fun in more languages than I can count. Having two computer scientists for parents may have influenced me to this in a way.



Outside of work, I exclusively develop open-source software, and it is all available here on this GitHub account. Personal projects are my favorite because I love to play around, experiment, and develop as quickly as possible. This is why I tend to produce projects every three days. A lot of these projects are either made out of necessity to use in another project or as learning experiments. Feel free to fork and contribute to any of these projects. Any feedback you can provide me is appreciated.



Notable past projects



In the past, I've worked on a variety of interesting projects of different dimensions. I was once an (very) popular user over on devRant and have been involved in a variety of bots and statistical tools for the community of the site and my first group project, devCredits, and a command-line client for the application called the dr. Neither of those old projects were particularly well-designed or written by me However, I learned a lot from them, and thats the most important thing to me.



More recently, I have been involved with Raider Robotics, a FIRST Robotics Competition team that was based out of my highschool. As part of Raider Robotics I was the driving force in developing the software that powered our award-winning robots: Q*bert MiniBot, HATCHField, and Darth Raider. I also developed event management software and a parts control tool for the team shop Hardware diagnostic tools, and the robotics library that is the core of the team (including its documentation).

Rust - At the moment, Rust is my primary programming language. My goal is to become a Rust expert. I've been at work to create many useful crates to aid in filling out the libraries that are available to other developers.



For the past few years, Java was my primary language. It was a language that I learned in 10th grade while working with Raider Robotics, @frc5024. My Java projects are split between robotics, Minecraft mods, and homework from my high school compsci classes.



Python was the first programming language I learned in 5th grade. It was my primary language from elementary school to high school and I have numerous Python projects. While many of my older Python projects were not particularly proficient however, my Python skills have improved to the point where I am able to say with confidence that I am an expert in the language. Although my work is closed-source however, I still work with Python professionally.



C and C++ were the languages I learned while working for Raider Robotics. While I've had the majority of my experiences with these languages within the Robotics area however, I also have some side projects using these languages. Professionally, I use C++.
Minecraft


While I am proficient in many languages, there are not enough projects that be able to justify the creation of a separate section. You are welcome to explore my repositories page to discover them.
