Minecraft Earth won't be stuck in beta testing for much longer. Mojang and Microsoft have revealed that the game's augmented-reality feature will be available in "early access" for certain countries beginning in October. It wasn't clear which countries or platforms will be included, however the beta is available to Android and iOS users.
Earth is a slight deviation from the standard Minecraft experience. You can still build your own worlds in AR however, you can also take part in shareable Adventures that require you to face monsters and other obstacles to earn precious resources. It's an extension to Minecraft that encourages you socialize and venture out into the real world, with world building as the glue.
