Minecraft is a game that needs to be played with your friends. Sometimes, you'll be working together to create something amazing, other times you will be using mods to recreate Eldenring and at other times, you'll be playing online servers to discover what the internet can offer. Sometimes things can be messy when you play online with strangers. That's what the latest Minecraft snapshot is designed to tackle.
The Minecraft snapshot 22W24A has arrived. It's heading towards 1.19.1 with some bugs fixed, two new features and some bugs that have been fixed. The main one here is chat reporting that lets you report players sending "abusive messages" in the game chat. Stockalicious The blog says that "any reports made during testing will not be considered," but that it is crucial to acknowledge that toxic players are an integral part any online game. This could be a good step.
Chat reporting can be accessed within the social interactions section, and you'll be required to report each chat's individual messages, and select an appropriate category for them too. Presumably, this is to stop the system itself from being abused, as you can't simply create a generic report of an individual player. You have to describe what they've done and the blog says that your report will be reviewed by a moderator. There's no telling yet what constitutes a true and actionable report, but it's worth knowing the details.
Beyond that, the other big change is that the fantastic Minecraft allay is now able to be duplicated. This is done by providing them with an amethyst-shard. However, duplication has a 2.5-minute cooling time. This should ease worries regarding how many mobs of allay there are. Plus there's always more the cute thing, right?
In not much official news, we're massive fans of this Mario Kart mod for Minecraft. It adds the karts that you enjoy in Minecraft, and also adds cool water features.
