What devices could be at risk of being 'one of the most serious' cyber security threats 02:18
Hackers associated with the governments of China, Iran, North Korea and Turkey are exploiting a critical vulnerability in a program that is used by major tech companies across the globe, Microsoft has warned. So far, hackers from foreign countries appear to have played around with the vulnerability, which is contained in Java-based software dubbed "Log4j" that organizations around the world use to log data in their applications. A senior US cybersecurity official has said that there was no evidence to suggest that federal networks had been affected by the vulnerability. However the Log4j vulnerability could impact the majority of the internet. Cloud computing from Apple and security firm Cloudflare and Minecraft, one of the most popular video games, all run Log4j according to research.

Klobuchar: Manchin 'still at the negotiations' over Building Back Better -- full interview 09:05
The movement on the Build Back Better Bill, the $1.75 trillion economic and climate package that serves as one of the mainstays of President Joe Biden's agenda for legislative reform, has likely stalled until next year. Biden and Democrats were hoping to have the bill approved at the end of this year, however talks between Biden and Democratic Sen. Joe Manchin, a critical swing vote, have not produced any resolution. The child tax credit is among the most important issues that have been a stumbling block to progress. Biden's top priority is the tax credit because it provides aid to families and helps reduce child poverty. Manchin is requesting it be eliminated from the bill. Even even if Biden and Manchin were to agree the bill has to be approved and finalized for a vote.

A report was released by the Miami-Dade grand juries that investigated the Surfside condo collapse, which resulted in the deaths the 98 victims. The report calls for more funds and inspectors, as well as staff to spot unsafe buildings and recommends raising standards for qualification for inspectors. The panel also suggested that the process of recertification for residential properties should begin earlier than 40 years after the property is constructed. The Surfside condo's 40-year recertification in 2018 was conducted by an engineering company. They discovered deterioration of the concrete that was "deep" however they could not make repairs due to structural stability concerns. Although it wasn't their job to determine what caused the deadly collapse however, the grand jury pointed out that, more than six months later, the investigators still don't know the exact cause of the collapse. it took place.
