Minecraft is determined to make it easier for users to access content created by community members as well as fans.



Many players have already built intricate worlds for exploration and adventures to enjoy or altered the game to provide new experiences.



They will be able to sell the content in the brand new Minecraft Marketplace.



"We would like to help entrepreneurs to start businesses through our platform," producer John Thornton informs Newsbeat.



Up to now, those who design adventure maps skin packs for characters, or experiences to play in the game have not been allowed to sell them directly to other players.



Official Minecraft content is not sold in this way. However, some players still earn a living from the game.



James Delaney, is founder of an organization of Minecraft creators dubbed Blockworks and he's managed to create a business despite the limitations.



He is happy to welcome the Marketplace.



He told Newsbeat that he hopes that it will be the beginning of a steady and consistent income.



"In the past, we relied on commissions to come into our businesses, and you don't know when that time will come."



He is responsible for 62 creators who work in 20 countries.



Their main source of income is creating Minecraft-based content for marketing and educational campaigns.



James "got really into" making Minecraft maps with his online buddies, and realized in the following years that it was feasible to earn money by selling it.



"At the very least, we know there's a market for our content," he says.



"If it's successful, we are confident that we can continue working on a more regular and stable basis.



"Also, it's content that we can choose to make instead of being asked to create. Therefore, we have the creative control over it."



The marketplace will be available in the latter half of the year and will be available on both the Pocket and Windows 10 versions of the game.



It means that the majority of the estimated 120 million users of Minecraft worldwide will have access to it however, those who play on consoles will not.



John Thornton states, "Our ambition is to try and connect creators and players."



"On Pocket edition, it can be difficult to transfer content onto devices. This makes it difficult for users and creators to share content they love with the world.



"By connecting creators with the marketplace it will be easier for players to find something they like, then purchase it, and then store it available on their devices."



Players will be able to access them for free, so users can still create community experiences.



Producers hope that consumers will be willing to pay for the content that is easy to find.



John says, "If you want people to share content right now, you need to put it on the internet and inform them of the location."



"You can utilize existing social networks to accomplish this, but it's more effective if you bring this into the game."



"Players who are in the midst of playing the game they love, can just choose what they want to share with."



He hopes that the game will allow James to establish an effective business.



The Minecraft team has launched the new service with nine creators from across the globe to begin.



The central Minecraft team will monitor the adventure maps, skin packs and other experiences to ensure that they are suitable for the audience of the game.
