Like Minecraft Dungeons, Legends is creating new mobs that are compatible with Minecraft.
Minecraft Legends creative director Magnus Nedfors and executive producer Dennis Ries sat down during the Xbox booth livestream at Gamescom this week to deliver some new information about Legends which include information about new mobs, both friend and foe. Mojang Interactive and Blackbird Interactive are launching a new RTS spinoff that will make a mark in the Minecraft world, just like previous genres. Dungeons stepped out of the confines of the existing Minecraft lore to create mobs that be suited to its action RPG setting and Legends is following suit.

As we saw in its initial reveal trailer that the main villains of Minecraft Legends are the familiar Nether inhabitants which are the Piglins. Legends will also add the "Pigmadillo" to the mix. It's a creature that crouches down in a cube, and, contrary to what you believe based on the geometry of a cube's physics moves in a way that is offensive to the area it is attempting to take out. There are also "Bruisers" which Ries notes have two giant razor blades that can be used. Bit horror-esque, innit? The new trailer for Mojang's cinematic film has both mobs.
On the other side, on the friendly side, two types of golem will join your ranks The Cobblestone Golem, who is apparently great for taking down structures of enemies and what sounds like Ries calls a "Plank Golem" which is an armed unit that can be ranged. You can also make use of speed wheat as well as a special mushroom to jump extra high to travel around the globe and unlock new Legends areas.
Minecraft Dungeons also introduced new mobs such as the Iceologers or Mountaineers. The Iceologers ended up being included in the Minecraft Live 2020 fan vote for which mob to add to Vanilla Minecraft. They lost to Glow Squid, but I'd like to see one of these Legends baddies get the same chance at Vanilla Mine fame.
In case you didn't notice that there's a badger in the trailer, too. Project Badger was the codename for Minecraft Legends before it was revealed, which may be all it takes to give a nod to. However, it's possible that it'll be able to make it to official mob status too.
