How do you get Into Minecraft Betas

Most weeks we release early versions of Minecraft updates to test new features, shake off the wrinkles and squash the bugs before they're released to a wider audience. It's a great way for gamers like you to experience the latest stuff we're working on before it's officially launched!



If you're excited about the idea of learning new things, and aren't worried the possibility of encountering bugs, take a look at the platform you like.



These versions are unstable by nature and therefore, things could be a bit odd, weird, or just plain wrong. The game could crash, and things you build might get corrupted. It's not a huge risk, but it's still an opportunity to take a risk!



We offer regular test versions of the Java Edition. To enable Snapshots, go to the Launch Options tab, then click the arrow next the Play button in the main tab.



XBOX ONE



Xbox One now has Minecraft Preview, which is free to everyone who owns an online copy of Minecraft. It will also be available on Xbox Game Pass later in the year. Unfortunately, it isn't available for use by Disc owners. Learn more about Preview on the Minecraft Preview FAQ!



Windows 10 and 11



Windows now has Minecraft Preview, which is free for all owners of Minecraft and users of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate or PC Game Pass. You can find out more about Preview by visiting the Minecraft Preview FAQ.



IPHONES AND IPADS



iOS now offers Minecraft Preview. Players can sign up using this link to be informed when slots become available. While slots aren't unlimited, we will open more up periodically, and we'll get rid of inactive players in order to allow new players in. Find out more about Preview in the Minecraft Preview FAQ!



Android has an Beta program that you can join at any time if you already own Minecraft. You will be replacing your current Minecraft version with this Beta version by joining the Beta program. The Beta version cannot connect to Realms or Featured servers and can only be used in multiplayer worlds with other Beta users.



To join the Android Beta, click here and then click "Become a Tester." If you later decide to exit the Beta, you can click the same link and then "Leave the program" to leave the program. After you leave, you'll need to uninstall and then re-install Minecraft to return to the officially released version. Be aware that the worlds you play during the beta may not be playable outside of it until the next version is released after exiting the beta program.
