Created by AlexTriesTech The Nintendo Wii gaming PC, also known as 'WiiC', an unassuming rig disguised as a low-spec family console from 2006. While the AMD Ryzen 5 5500U powered machine is able to play Wii games using Dolphin, it's also a full-featured Windows 11 system that'll run an entire portion of your Steam library.
The internals of the WiiC originally belonged to the mini Ryzen APU PC, but AlexTriesTech has trimmed the system's motherboard to help it fit within the Wii's compact chassis. To make the build compatible with the Nintendo WiiC, it eliminates additional components like Gamecube controller ports or its disc drive from its original. The sell also features modifications to improve airflow, decrease CPU throttling, and ultimately increase fps.
While the project took a long time to complete, the final product looks as if it's an actual Nintendo Wii. It even features RGB lighting that replicates the blue glow of the original console’s disc slot.
Sure, the concept of a Wii stealth rig is an interesting idea, but the benchmarks show it's not just an impromptu build. The micro device can produce more than 100 frames per second in Fornite, can run Rainbow Six: Siege at 1080p at 60fps, and Shadow of the Tomb Raider can be played on a small PC. As we mentioned earlier it is able to run Minecraft at 4K, so you can pair it with the best gaming monitor and enjoy the iconic block game in a higher-resolution.
We had previously decided that the Queen's Golden Wii should be turned into the most powerful gaming PC, but we're going to go with AlexTriesTech's invention. From a distance you'll probably think it's the same old thing you used to bowl and Tennis on with your Nan, and that's precisely what makes it so special.
