Seven amazing Minecraft creations By Joe Miller Technology reporter
Many of us were first introduced to Minecraft when Microsoft announced that it would pay $2.5bn (PS1.5bn) for the company that developed the top-selling video game.
But for several years now a dedicated community has been working in the Minecraft universe, painstakingly creating intricate cyberspace masterpieces.
Here are seven of our most-loved:
Game of Thrones
Mapmakers WesterosCraft are on a mission to recreate the universe created by George RR Martin in the Game of Thrones books and television series. The aim is to create an environment for role-playing in the fantasy world.
A working 16-bit computer
In just two weeks an Minecraft gamer named ohmganesha created an 16-bit computer. The virtual machine comes with 32 bytes of RAM (random-access memory) and an ROM of 256 bytes (read-only memory).
This Cathedral
Patrix who was the architect of the cathedral said that it took him only a few days to build. He also said that he'd never been to a cathedral in real life.
A hard drive that functions
Cody Littley's hard disk can hold one kilobyte of data. minecraft news This may seem small in comparison to the ordinary discs. However you have to think about the fact the fact that Mr. Littley, a Texas computer science PhD student, built it piece-by-piece.
An entire city
The Aurora City Project artists admit that the project may never be finished. However, the intricate cityscapes show why. You can see several screenshots here.
All of Denmark
To aid children in learning, the Danish government decided to map the entire country using Minecraft. However the project was later vandalised, with portions of the landscape blown up using virtual "dynamite".
A playable guitar
Disco, the Minecraft creator, is able to play 10 chords of open chords using his cyber guitar. You can view a demo here.
