What an amazing journey we've taken! Pocket Edition was a mere experiment by Aron Nieminen, a shrewd Mojang coder. It was nothing more than bare bones it was the simplest of Minecrafty features in mobile form, hammered together within just three months.
Aron states, "It wasn’t supposed to have multiplayer at all The first edition of the internal edition had an ASCII renderinger!"
It's now one of our most popular versions of Minecraft, with over 40 million players, who can enjoy the rich features of redstone. They can also join one another on Realms, and across platforms, race against each other on pigbacks, yell at witches, and - thanks to the upcoming Ender Update - battle the ultimate boss the Ender Dragon.
The Ender Update will bring the game version up to the large 1.0 in honor of introducing Minecraft's complete gameplay loop", as the developers like to say. Even while we've brought you The End, we're a far from being done with Pocket Edition. You'll be amazed at the array of exciting and interesting things we have in store for you!
