In less than a decade, Technoblade amassed nearly 11 million YouTube subscribers and 3.7 million Twitter followers as he shared his love for Minecraft, a videogame where gamers can create virtual worlds using blocks and create their own stories. In August 2021, he went public by telling his followers that he was diagnosed with cancer. He shared the news through a video of him playing Minecraft.
Technoblade's father has said that Technoblade sent his final message just eight hours prior to his death. Holding back tears, Technoblade's father described his son as "the most incredible child" anyone could ever wish for, adding: "I miss Technoblade."
Technoblade's father revealed the sad news to subscribers to his channel.
Technoblade's family released a statement saying that Technoblade was through numerous trials while fighting cancer of stage 4. The video has been viewed more than 19 million times. He was not complaining, and kept using his famous strategic mind to try to beat what he believed to be impossible odds. My son's courage in this situation was a shining example for all of us who had the privilege to walk it with him. We are thankful that you shared his journey with us, while he worked hard to do the work he loved for his beloved fans.
Social media has been flooded with tributes from celebrities, fans and fellow gamers.
YouTuber Ted Nivison recalled him as "Effortlessly funny." Amazingly talented. Too soon gone. Rest at ease, Technoblade."
TommyInnit Another YouTuber who is well-known wrote on Twitter: "Technoblade, a f**king Legend. I cannot express how grateful I am to have been a huge fan and a close friend of his. Minecraft skins He's making plans in heaven how to beat God, I know that.
In a statement made to CNN, Sarcoma Foundation of America honored Technoblade by expressing "deepest condolences to his family."
Brandi Felser is the CEO of the charity. This enabled SFA to provide research grants in Technoblade's honor. Through these efforts, he leaves an impactful legacy that will be felt by generations to come."
Felser said that Technoblade will be recognized by the organization's Courage Award, an annual honor given to individuals who inspire others "to bring hope and a better world for the sarcoma community" in the course of this year.
