South Northants Leisure is Planning a Rebranding Exercise
The council is seeking the public's opinion on its current leisure facilities and services and is planning a rebranding exercise. The council is planning improvements to the Brackley leisure centre and is seeking your feedback to help improve the existing services. The results of the consultation will help the council come up with a branding strategy. The leisure centre is being renovated and improved to provide better facilities to the community. Towcester and Brackley also have a youth sports scheme, which is aimed at youngsters.

Towcester Leisure Centre

The Towcester Leisure Centre in South Northamptonshire offers many amenities for members of the community. It features an indoor leisure pool with flumes, a fitness studio, and a café. In addition to the swimming pool and fitness centre, the facility also offers a tennis court and cafe. It is the ideal destination for any type of activity, whether you want to relax in the sun or workout in a group.

The Towcester Leisure Centre has over 60 classes each week and a fitness studio with over 70 stations. There is also a 25 metre lane pool and a leisure pool with a flume. There are also three g pitches and a children's programme, including swim lessons and birthday parties. The Towcester Leisure Centre is open to all ages and abilities, and its accessible, welcoming atmosphere is an excellent place to meet new people and make friends.

Brackley Leisure Centre

In July 2013, Brackley Leisure Centre, South Northants, opened its new swimming pool, which is open from 7am to 9pm. The new facility will include a learner pool, a fully equipped fitness room, and a cafe. The SNC also plans to build a bespoke spinning studio. The project is expected to cost PS4.5 million. It is one of a series of plans to redevelop the centre.

The Leisure Centre is conveniently located in the heart of Brackley. It has a 25 metre swimming pool, a separate learner pool, and 110-station gym. Other amenities include two dance studios and a studio cycling space. The centre has a sports hall and several changing rooms. The centre also has an outdoor pitch. Guests can play tennis, volleyball, and basketball there. The centre also offers a variety of classes for all ages and abilities.

Youth sports scheme

The Youth sports scheme at South Northants Leisure is aimed at encouraging young people to take part in sport and physical activity. The scheme provides funding to local clubs in order to deliver high-quality taster sessions that encourage young people to join sports clubs in the long term. To promote the scheme, the club is being encouraged to host a Road Show on Tuesday 2 March. At the road show, clubs can learn about marketing, safeguarding and updates on other initiatives in the area.

During the consultation, participants reflected on 'what matters most in youth sport'. In particular, they considered the pandemic as an opportunity to refocus the importance of sport and their involvement in it. A semi-professional Australian rules football club in the region is struggling after a lockout meant that it is not receiving match payments. John believes these players are doing it for their passion for the game. He is committed to helping them achieve this.

Towcester Leisure Centre refurbishment

Towcester Leisure Centre Road Show

During the road show, the Towcester Leisure Centre has been celebrating its customers, staff and community engagement. The centre underwent PS1m worth of refurbishments, which included a multi-purpose studio extension and improved changing and shower facilities. The spa has also undergone major improvements. In January 2016, SNC announced that it would invest PS4.5 million in Towcester and Brackley leisure centres. The council resolved to grant planning permission to the developers for a new swimming pool and improved facilities. The decision is subject to Northamptonshire County Council raising no objections as Lead Local Flood Authority. Despite the delay, the company also supports the relocation of the Manor Road Pool to the existing Brackley Leisure Centre.
