Before/After:00:50 hrs to 3:40 hrs, the reason is because Ubuntu uses discrete graphics continuously. Just follow these steps to disable discrete GPU in Ubuntu:
1) Install linux nonfree firmware from Software Center or type in Terminal:
sudo apt-get install linux-firmware-nonfree
2)Reboot
3)Get permissions: Type in terminal:
sudo chown <your user name> /sys/kernel/debug/
sudo chown <your user name> /sys/kernel/debug/vgaswitcheroo/switch
4)Read active Cards: Type in terminal:
cat /sys/kernel/debug/vgaswitcheroo/switch
5)Turn Off the Discrete GPU: By typing ON instead of OFF, you can turn it back on.
echo OFF > /sys/kernel/debug/vgaswitcheroo/switch
6)Make this script run by default on startup:
sudo gedit /etc/rc.local
Before exit 0 paste this:
chown <your user name> /sys/kernel/debug/vgaswitcheroo/switch
echo OFF > /sys/kernel/debug/vgaswitcheroo/switch
7)Save and exit.
8)Tadaaa!!
NOTE: Will not work until you install the nonfree firmwares.
