How To Join A Minecraft Server On Windows 10

You can play Minecraft by yourself. The game has a singular objective that you can follow if your aren't interested in multi-player games. However, it does offer an online-multiplayer version'. Users can create and manage Minecaft worlds online, and they can also play with hundreds. Minecraft servers are exceptionally popular though the servers for the Java version don't let players using the Windows 10 UWP version of Minecraft join it. This is yet another compatibility problem between the two versions.

That said, you can still join a Minecraft server from the UWP app. Here's how.

Locate a Server

First, find a server you wish to join. You can search online directories for active Minecraft servers. You should look for servers that support the PE edition or Bedrock edition. When you find a server, check when it's online. Some servers are available 24/7, while some are not. A good directory should be able to tell you whether a server is online at the moment.

Once you find the server, you need to get its IP address. This might be a user-friendly address like a URL or it might be a series of numbers.

Join A Minecraft Server

Open Minecraft, and click the Play button at the top of the screen. This will bring you to the Worlds screen. You can then choose a local planet to play. This screen has two other tabs. Go to the Servers tab. Click the Add Server link.

In the IP address field, enter the IP address of the server on the Add Server screen. DJW360.COM Add a name to the server. This name does not have to be the official name of your server. It can be called anything you like to help remember which one it belongs to. Click Play if you want to play right away, or click Save and the server will appear in the list of servers when you go to this tab from the Play screen.

When you play on the server, it connects to it and loads the world. The speed of the server and your internet connection can affect how much lag you experience during game play. This has nothing to do the game, but everything to do about your internet connection.

To quit/exit a server-game, tap the Escape key. We should mention that since this is an online game, you can't pause it and if you die, you die. Your items can be taken by other players, and your home may be raided.
