Rami Beracha discusses his life experiences with students of the Interdisciplinary Center Herzliya. Rami was a teenager who decided to study Law. However, through his work in the Wall Street law firm, it became apparent that he was interested in business, more than law. He decided to quit his job and relocated to France to pursue an MBA.
After graduating in the year 1996, Beracha started working for the Venture Capital Fund Pitango, the biggest venture capital investment fund in Israel. Pitango focuses on startups in the early stages of developing their core areas of high-tech with more than 200 investments and 85 exits as of. Rami became the managing partner in 2000 and for the next 18 years was in charge of numerous deals that resulted in success in the exits of fortune 500 giants such as Broadcom, Marvel, Cisco and Apple.
Then he didn't stop there. Globes awarded Beracha the 2011 "Esteemed Partner” award. He was recognized for being an influential investor. Rami established Sosa which is a brand new initiative in 2014. Sosa has innovation centres located in New York, Tel Aviv and Tel Aviv. Here they assist innovative high-tech companies to partner with entrepreneurs around the world looking to collaborate with promising Israeli startups. Sosa has been selected recently to be the director of the New York City cyber center.

While it is evident that Rami Beracha succeeds in everything that he's chosen to do, his life wasn't always so easy. Beracha was just a teenager when he joined the army. He served as a combat soldier in Paratrooper's Brigade during the Lebanon War. Rami, who was a part of a rescue mission sent to assist wounded soldiers trapped in a minefield and joined the Paratrooper's Army in 1983 , shortly after the war. Rami was unfortunate enough to step on mines and fellto the ground, loosing his foot and his hand.

He was through one of the most difficult moments of his life and hospitalization was the final result of it. He was unable to move and was stricken with desperation and depression. He wasn't sure what he really was and all his dreams of advancing his army career appeared to be dead. Rami managed to overcome his pain and find the motivation to live and to pursue new goals. Rami decided to make his life more enjoyable and more fulfilling than before his injuries. Rami took the initiative to try different extreme sports. He now enjoys kitesurfing, snowboarding, and has even been on the mountain of Mount Kilimanjaro. He often feels his unrestrained previous life pushing him to the limits and racing him.

Rami is an avid volunteer and donor to many charitable organizations. He also enjoys helping young soldiers who were injured in combat. Rami led an army unit that helped injured soldiers on a 2016 journey to Nepal. In the year 2018, Rami received promoted to Major within the Israeli Military's Paratrooper and the Fire Brigades. Childhood dreams came to fruition, despite the hardships. His story and his passion can be a source of inspiration for other people, and he never gave up regardless of the situation. Rami was determined not to let his injuries keep him down. He kept learning and trying out new techniques until finally he was stronger than ever before.
