How To Make A Minecraft Server

Before anything, you will need two things. A decent Desktop as well as the Java version of Minecraft. Without either of these items, making your own Minecraft server will become a very trying matter to accomplish. 83hh Other versions like the pocket edition or Bedrock will not be able to assist you in the creation of a Minecraft server, so make sure you have the proper hardware and software to proceed to the next step. The Java version of Minecraft can be downloaded here.

Download Minecraft

Step 2

Once you have confirmed that you have the necessary equipment, you will want to enter Minecraft.net for your next phase. After logging in, you will need to download Server.Jar.

Minecraft Server Download

The file is updated regularly with every new Minecraft version so you don't have to worry about it getting out of date. Make sure to create a folder for the file before you download it. This will ensure that it doesn't get lost and is always available for you when you need it.

Step 3

Next, you will have the opportunity to enter the folder which now contains your program. Then, run the main software. After accepting the agreement, you will need to enter the eula.txt.file and then change the line "eula=false" to "eula=true". Save the changes and exit the program. Next, run the main.jar file to access all documents and txt files. Once you see these new documents and files it will mean that you now have your brand spanking new Minecraft server, but your work will not be finished yet.

Step 4

To properly launch your server, you will need to reenter the folder and create a new file. You should also name it something that indicates that it is a launch document. After this is done, you'll need to click on a document and enter below the code:

Java -Xms1024M -Xm1024 -jar server.jar pause

The server will run faster if you include this coded command in a document.

A quick reminder: All files you create in this folder should be tagged with ".bat" at end of names.

To verify that the steps you have taken are correct, test your start_server button. If you followed the correct instructions, your new server will launch. If not, please take note and make sure you have the correct file names.

Step 5

One of the last steps you will take is a familiar one that comes with you every time you create a new world in your base Minecraft game. You will find a list of options that you can use to change the Minecraft world in your server properties.

This may include difficulty, maximum players, game mode and even the name for your world. This part is purely for the type of world you wish to find yourself in when you start your server, so take the time to think about what kind of environment you would like to play in.

Step 6

You will need to start your server before you can move on to the next step. Next, start Minecraft. This will allow you to go to the multiplayer tab and access your add-server option. As you will need it to give access to your server to other players, make sure you have your IP address. After that, you should not have any problems connecting to your server. Then you can enjoy the fruits your labor through your customized server.
