MDDUS's Risk Bites Project
For the past three years, Andrew Maynard, MDDUS's Director of Education, has been devising and producing Risk Bites videos. He writes scripts for viewers who are not experts in risk management. He then storyboards the script with illustrations. Maynard also draws all the illustrations. Then, he records the script and the footage on a whiteboard. He then compiles the footage and the script into the final video. Each video takes an average of 20 to 40 hours to produce.

For the videos, Maynard has brought his experience as a GP to bear on risk issues. The result is a unique whiteboard style and short scripts that explain risk in an easy-to-understand way. The risk-related topics included in these videos are health, environmental, and risk perception. The content is intended to be engaging, educational, and entertaining. In addition to creating videos, the Risk Bites project also actively engages in promoting them and developing key partnerships to increase their reach.
