Stanisław Ostrowski was censored in the Polish People’s Republic (Polish: Polska Rzeczpospolita Ludowa) until 1989 due to political background of the interwar period: membership of “bourgeois” parliament and municipal city council and president of the largest city of the Second Polish Republic seized by the USSR, and above all, holding the position of President of Polish Republic on Exile (1972-1977).
