The Minecraft Marketplace Is Full Of Distraction Microtransactions

Minecraft allows players to express themselves however they want, making it one of the best sandbox games available. Servers You can play how you want, look how you want, and, thanks to the wealth of Minecraft mods, even change every little thing to be whatever you want. A lot of that is free as long as you've bought the game. Things get a little murkier when it comes to the Minecraft marketplace, where money exchanges hands.



Although the Minecraft marketplace is known for a while, it is only available on the console and Bedrock editions of the game. Java players may not be familiar with it. However, the two versions are now available in one place. It's not surprising that there are some issues with the Minecraft marketplace.



A Redditor called Boredbud04 uploaded a small video clip showing off some of the 'Back Items' from the marketplace. These are cosmetics that take up a generally unused slot that can add a little bit of flair to characters. They're a bit more extravagant than many skins in that they alter the form of your character. While they are only wings, it's difficult to miss how large they can become when they block the market screen.



The biggest offender, in every sense, is Inner Ghosts, the pink one that Boredbud04 highlights second. If it were in the middle, this bit of back bling would take up the entire screen. This is a problem if you play multiplayer games. You could easily troll other players by simply standing in front of them. As long as someone has put in the effort, this isn't necessarily an issue. But it does feel uncomfortable.
